In a 1955 paper, Prof. Jan Kabelik laid the basics of the scientific research into the healing effects of cannabinoids. His colleagues Prof Zdeněk Krejčí and chemist František Šantavy were the first to isolate cannabidiol acid or CBD.
Work 1963
In 1963 Professor Šantavý published a work in which he stated the correct absolute configuration of CBD and THC.

In 1992, Lumír Ondrej Hanus and William Anthony Devane isolated and first described the structure of anandamide, an endogenous cannabinoid neurotransmitter.
